Wanted: Increased Fiber Consumption

"I wasn't compensated for my time or for product within in this post. This post includes my personal opinion and researched information."

According to the recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2015 we are not getting enough fiber in our diets and this potentially increases risk for chronic disease down the road. Currently adults ages 20 and older should have about 28 grams of fiber per day and we currently consume approximately 15 grams.

The best sources of dietary fiber are beans, pulses, fruits, whole grains, nuts and vegetables. I up my fiber intake by consuming whole grain breads such as Oroweat Double Fiber English Muffins with a schemar of peanut butter sprinkled with 1 tablespoon flax seed .

Voila....11 grams fiber for breakfast, lunch or a snack. Add a bowl of vegetable soup and this could be your dinner. Tasty and satisfying.

Look for increased conversation about fiber for FDA is asking for input about fiber in our food supply.
